Professor James O’Reilly has taught courses in Public Health Policy and in Food, Drug, & Safety Laws for 39 years at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and College of Law. Since 1974, he has worked on numerous projects involving the Food & Drug Administration, Centers for Disease Control, and Consumer Product Safety Commission, and chaired programs and committees dealing with consumer product safety. He has also served as in-house counsel to a large manufacturer, as counsel to a law firm, and as an expert witness for defendants and plaintiffs. His earlier works include the leading references on food and drug law and federal records disclosure. He is co-editor of the Accident Prevention Manual for the National Safety Council, and Assistant Chief Reporter of the ABA Project on European Union Administrative Law. Prof. O’Reilly also served as Vice Mayor of an Ohio city and executive committee trustee of the regional council of governments serving the Cincinnati region. He is a graduate of Boston College and the University of Virginia School of Law.
