John McKenzie joined Baker & McKenzie in 1976 and has since worked in Baker & McKenzie offices in Caracas, Venezuela and Taipei, Taiwan. He is a member of the International Section of the American Bar Association, the Legislative Council of the California Council for International Trade and the District Export Council for Northern California. Mr. McKenzie also serves as an associate member of the Northern California Chapter of the Association of Freight Forwarders and Customs Brokers.

Mr. McKenzie’s practice is focused on cross-border transactions and international trade regulation. His practice also covers planning and structuring international investments, international mergers, acquisitions, consolidation and reorganization transactions, international commercial and technology development and transfer transactions, as well as customs and import regulations, export controls and international corporate compliance.

Vladimir Efremov is a senior associate in the Moscow office of Baker & McKenzie. Mr. Efremov specializes on international trade issues, WTO, domestic and cross-border, direct and indirect taxation, FCPA and compliance audits. He also specializes in the areas of customs and currency regulations. Mr. Efremov is experienced in cross-border tax planning and tax-efficient structuring of capital transactions in and outside of Russia.

Vladimir Efremov spoke on international trade issues at a number of conferences and seminars.

Mr. Efremov graduated with honors from Moscow Higher School of Economics in 2004. In the same year he was admitted to the bar.

Michael Mensik is a partner with Baker & McKenzie LLP and a founding member of the firm’s Global Information Technology/Communications Law practice. While a student, Mr. Mensik attended Pontificia Universidad Católica del Per? in Lima, Peru. He spent several years working at the firm's Madrid office in the 1980's.
