As an Assistant General Counsel for Microsoft I practice at the intersection of law, technology and business and lead the legal support function to Microsoft's US Enterprise Commercial Sales team - a team of over 2000 sales professionals that drives Microsoft's largest commercial business with its biggest customers. I also have the privilege in leading a team of 14 outstanding and diverse lawyers and legal professionals who are scattered across the US. Prior to joining Microsoft I worked in various in-house legal roles for IBM and Accenture.
I have over 20 years of legal experience - all in-house with leading Information Technology providers. My primary expertise includes shaping and negotiating a wide range of sophisticated IT contracts with third parties such as Digital Transformation, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, on-premises licensing, business process outsourcing, consulting services and product support arrangements. In addition, I have substantial expertise in the areas of cybersecurity, privacy, compliance & ethics, intellectual property, dispute resolution, employment law and antitrust law.

Huu Nguyen is a deal lawyer with a strong technical background. He focuses his practice on commercial and corporate transactions in the technology and venture space, and counsels and assists clients with FinTech transactions, artificial intelligence matters, licensing, outsourcing, complex commercial arrangements, strategic relationships, financial regulatory matters, privacy and security matters, cyber law and intellectual property rights matters. He also helps his clients with accelerator and foundry formations and associated fund formations, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, corporate formation and other related matters. He currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Committee of the ABA.
Before practicing corporate, commercial and technology law, Huu focused on intellectual property litigation and patent prosecution. Prior to joining Squire Patton Boggs, Huu seconded as an in-house counsel with a global financial services company. Huu was a board member of the Vietnamese-American Bar Association of Washington and has also worked on IP and transactional matters pro bono for nonprofits.
