Andrea "Lee" Negroni is a mortgage regulatory and real estate attorney, author of four successful books on real estate finance regulation ("Residential Mortgage Lending: State Regulation Manual," and "Residential Mortgage Lending: Brokers," published by Thomson Reuters, "Pratt's State Regulation of Second Mortgages and Home Equity Loans," published by A.S. Pratt/Sheshunoff/Thomson Media Group, and "Introduction to Mortgage Lending," Second and Third Editions, published by the American Bankers Association) and author of the Lexis/Nexis Real Estate Law Community column "Real Cases in Real Estate." She has worked in several national law firms, as associate, partner and later, Of Counsel. She was for 7 years the Editor-in-Chief of "Pratt's Mortgage Compliance Letter" and was founder and editor of "LPO Network," a (now defunct) newsletter reporting on the outsourcing of legal services to India. She published a chapter on subprime mortgage lending litigation in "Instant Awareness," a series of expert commentary and insights published by Aspatore Books in 2008. Ms. Negroni has been on the Thomson-West Compliance Advisory Board since 2007 and was profiled in the Spring 2008 issue of "Published," the Thomson/West Publishing Company's magazine devoted to Thomson West's "Key Authors." She is on the Board of Expert Contributors as a Mortgage Lending Expert for the legal education seminar producer Sheshunoff/A.S. Pratt.
Ms. Negroni has spoken and presented at meetings and conferences of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), the American Conference Institute (ACI), Practicing Law Institute (PLI), Executive Enterprise Institute (EEI), National Association of Mortgage Brokers, and other organizations. She is approved by FINRA as an arbitrator and is a Virginia licensed real estate agent.
Ms. Negroni is a member of the District of Columbia and Florida Bar Associations and is a former member of the Advisory Council of the American Association of Residential Mortgage Regulators (AARMR), which awarded her its Distinguished Service Award in 1997. She was a member of the 2002-2003 Board of Governors of the Mortgage Bankers Association of Metropolitan Washington. She has been a literacy tutor with For Love of Children in Washington, D.C. and since 2008 she has been a volunteer teacher of English to senior citizens in the Arlington County (Virginia) adult education program. She was Treasurer of the Columbia University Club of Washington DC (2005-2007) and is a member of the Puerto Rican American Women's League (PRAWL).
