Content

All of the content you can find on PLI PLUS can be found on the app. The app is a companion to the PLI PLUS website, allowing you to perform robust searches, make notes, highlights, add bookmarks, save content to your iPhone or iPad for offline viewing and so much more!

You are able to email citation information; if you want to email a pdf of the content, you can do so from the website.

From Browse or Search results
  1. Press Select
  2. Choose the item(s) you want to email
  3. Press the email icon ( )


From within a Chapter or a Program Segment
  1. Press the more icon ( )
  2. Press Email

Recent Documents shows you the last 20 items you viewed on both the app and web version of PLI PLUS.

Chapters and Program Segments can be downloaded and viewed exclusively within the app. Forms can be viewed using third-party software.

Login

After launching the app, enter the email address and password you use to sign up for programs on www.pli.edu. if you do not know your password, tap ‘Forgot Password’, and you will receive an email with a temporary password.

Because PLI PLUS is subscription based, you must have an existing subscription and account to access any of the content on the app. you can create an account here. You do have the ability to browse and search content from a desktop browser, but will be unable to view content without a subscription.

To reset your password, launch the app and tap ‘Forgot Password’. You will receive an email with a temporary password and instructions on how to reset your password.

Navigation

Start searching or browsing from the home screen or the navigation panel. From either location, you can navigate to Books, which includes Treatises, Course Handbooks, and Answer Books; along with Transcripts and Forms. From Browse, you also have the option to jump to a title by typing in the top search bar.

Tap back until you reach the menu icon ( ). Open to reveal the navigation menu. You can also access the home screen from the navigation menu.

Search

All of the search capabilities that are on the web browser of PLI PLUS are also available through the app. Terms & Connectors and Natural Language searches can be used in conjunction with the Advanced Search Options across a specific content type or all content types. You can also utilize command line search language.

When you are viewing a document, on the bottom tab bar, press the search icon ( ) and type in your search. if your document contains multiple search results, you can jump to the next result using the forward ( ) or back ( ) buttons.

Settings

You can adjust the font size, as well as change the font, spacing between sentences and page layout. These changes can be made by using the settings icon ( ) from the tab bar on the bottom of the screen when viewing content. Any changes will be applied to all documents. You also have the option to reset to the default settings.

My Shelves and Downloads

Adding content to a shelf allows you to manage, organize and access content in a central location, while downloading content to your device allows you to view it while offline. Before you download content to your device, you will first be prompted to add the item to a shelf.

From Browse or a search results page:
  1. Press Select
  2. Choose the item(s) you want to add
  3. Press the bookshelf icon ( )
  4. Select a shelf or create a new shelf

From a table of contents page, if you want add a chapter or chapters
  1. Press Select
  2. Choose the item(s) you want to add
  3. Press the bookshelf icon ( )
  4. Select a shelf or create a new shelf

From a Table of Contents, if you want to add the entire book or program transcript
  1. Press the more icon ( )
  2. Add Book to Shelf
  3. Select a shelf or create a new shelf
From Browse or a search results page
  1. Press Select
  2. Choose the item you want to download
  3. Press the download icon ( )
  4. Select a shelf or create a new shelf

From a Table of Contents page, if you want to download a chapter
  1. Press Select
  2. Choose the Chapter you want to download
  3. Press the download icon ( )
  4. Select a shelf or create a new shelf

Please note that when downloading an item to your device, you will be prompted to add the item to a shelf first. In addition, you can only download one item at a time to your device from the Browse and search results screen. If you want to download an entire book or program transcript, you can do so by selecting the book or program from Browse and by tapping the more icon ( ) and pressing Download Book to my Device / Download Program to my Device.

When you are in a shelf:
  1. Press Select
  2. Choose the item(s) you want to move
  3. Press the move icon ( )
  4. Select a shelf or create a new shelf

From My Shelves, swipe left on the item that you want to delete, and then press Delete.
If an item is downloaded to your device, you will be given two options:
  1. Delete From Shelf – The item will no longer be downloaded to your device or placed on your shelf. You will be able to locate the item(s) again using Search or Browse.
  2. Delete From Device – The item will no longer be downloaded to your device and will therefore not be accessible offline. However, it will remain on your shelf.

From My Downloads, swipe left on the item that you want to delete, and then press Delete. The item will no longer be accessible offline but will remain on your shelf.

From My Shelves, swipe left on the shelf that you want to delete, and then press Delete. Please note that when deleting a shelf, it will delete everything from the shelf, and remove any shelf items that had been downloaded to your device.

From My Downloads, you can see the size of each individual item. In addition, the total of all content downloaded to your device from the PLI PLUS app is at the bottom of this screen. Content size varies for each item based on how many pages and/or images are within a chapter.

Notations

Once you are viewing an item in which you would like to create a Note:
  1. Find the text where you would like to place your Note and hold down on it
  2. You can adjust the highlighted text by dragging the anchors to cover the text you want to reference
  3. Press Note
  4. Type your note, then Save

The Notations icon ( ) will appear next to an item that contains Highlights, Notes, and/or Bookmarks.
  1. Open an item where you want to view a notation
  2. Press the page icon ( )
You can view all Highlights, Notes, and/or Bookmarks within the specific document. From here, you can also jump to the exact location within the content where the notation was made by clicking on the bottom right corner of the notation.

For example, you can press ‘280 | Highlight’ ( ) and it will bring you to the highlighted portion in the text.

When you locate a Highlight or Note that you want to delete, tap on the item and a pop-up menu will appear. You can delete or edit the note, delete a highlight or add a note to highlighted text.
